About Your Hot Air Balloon Flight
We aim to ensure that your hot air balloon flight with us is both memorable and
pleasurable. The flight lasts for approximately one hour, although the whole
ballooning experience will last
approximately three hours from arriving on site to your return.
Head in The Clouds hot air balloon flights normally take place over the scenic countryside of Berkshire, Wiltshire,
Oxfordshire and Hampshire close to west London, in a small balloon basket in order to ensure that your flight
is personal and friendly.
During your balloon flight you may be lucky enough to view a variety of wildlife which you
would otherwise not be able to see, so remember to bring your still or video camera to
record the event. Enjoy the wide horizon that is England's countryside!
Balloon Flight Times
Hot air balloons fly on weekend mornings and evenings
throughout the year, and also weekday evenings from April to
October. Other times are available on request. Morning hot air balloon flights depart one
to two hours after sunrise, and evening balloon flights about two hours before sunset. These times
may vary depending on the weather conditions prevailing on the day. If you want to give
the balloon flight as a present, you can purchase a gift voucher allowing the lucky recipient to take
their ballooning adventure on a day of their choice.

Head in The Clouds require light winds, no rain and good visibility for
ballooning.
How Do We Get Back?
Our experienced balloon crew will follow the hot air balloon in our retrieve vehicle
and return everybody to the launch field after your flight.
What Should I Wear?
You should remember that the balloon launches from a grass field which can be muddy
so sensible footwear is recommended. For winter balloon flights you will require warm clothing
as ballooning is definitely an outdoor activity.
Light clothing is all that is required for summer flights, but light headwear is
recommended all year round (baseball caps are available for use from your pilot).
It is NOT advisable to wear high heels, short sleeved shirts, shorts or your Sunday
best for your balloon flight!
Vital Statistics
Anyone who can see over the edge of the balloon basket can fly with us, so you should ideally
be above 4 feet tall.
Age is not important - people from 8 to 90 have been ballooning with us - as long as you are
able to get in and out of the balloon basket you can fly!
Do please inform us, however, if you have any disabilities. We will also ask you about
your weight when you book your hot air balloon flight, in order to comply with CAA regulations.
Balloon Flight Mementos
After every balloon flight you will be given a free flight certificate signed by your
pilot as a souvenir of your ballooning adventure.
After your flight you can purchase an inflight photo of your flight. You can either buy a print in a photo mount or buy a digital downlaod to print at home.
